Football Game Preview: De Leon Bearcats vs. Coleman Bluecats + How To Watch

The De Leon Bearcats will challenge the Coleman Bluecats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in De Leon's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Coleman has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

It was a proper cat-fight when De Leon challenged Hico on Friday. The Bearcats took their game with ease, bagging a 56-27 victory over the Tigers. Considering the Bearcats have won three contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

De Leon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Heston Jobe, who threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. Jobe is becoming a predictor of the Bearcats' success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Colt Schwertner helped Jobe out on the ground, rushing for 66 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries.

De Leon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Bryce Burkeen picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Coleman had to suffer through a 38-7 loss at the hands of Hamilton. The matchup marked the Bluecats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

De Leon's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Coleman, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for De Leon against Coleman in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-12 victory. In that contest, the Bearcats amassed a halftime lead of 41-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
