Football Game Preview: Manti Templars vs. Cedar Reds

Two dominant signal callers in Carter Mason and Everett Kelling are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Manti Templars will challenge the Cedar Reds at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Manti sitting on six straight victories and Cedar on 12.

Manti is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Morgan with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Templars were the (much) better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Cedar earned a 23-16 win over Juab on Friday.

Cedar didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daxton Demille and Keaton Cox. Cedar got some further help from Dax Wankier: he made 16 total tackles and defended one pass.

Manti's record now sits at 9-3. As for Cedar, their record is now 12-0.

Manti might still be hurting after the 51-27 defeat they got from Cedar in their previous matchup back in September. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kelling, who rushed for 176 yards and three TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
