Volleyball Recap: Braden River Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Braden River was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lemon Bay on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates fell just short of the Bradenton Christian Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Braden River started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17, 16-14.

Chloe Pogoda paced Braden River's offense, picking up 20 kills. Pogoda got some help from Mia Mcguire and her 39 assists. Pogoda was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Kelsey Jerome had a dynamite game For Bradenton Christian., getting 21 digs and nine assists. That's the most assists Jerome has posted over her last six matchups.

Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Bradenton Christian, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Braden River will host North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bradenton Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Imagine School at North Port at 7:00 p.m.
