Soccer Game Preview: Bellmont vs. DeKalb

Bellmont is on a five-game streak of home wins, while DeKalb is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Braves will host the Barons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bellmont has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 14 goals over their last three matchups.

DeKalb better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Bellmont's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Bellmont really gets things going. The Braves never let Fort Wayne Canterbury get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. Give Bellmont's defense some credit: that's the team's seventh straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Fort Wayne Canterbury from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Maggie Wilson led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, while the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was DeKalb who was credited with the victory on Monday. The Barons got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Norwell's four.

DeKalb's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Bellmont, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
