Softball Recap: Princeton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Williams

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Princeton). They put the hurt on the Williams Yellowjackets with a sharp 26-3 win on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 24-4 on Friday.

Jada Dillard was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Wills, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.

Princeton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Princeton and bumps their season record up to 5-3-1. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing eight strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.57 in the others. As for Williams, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Princeton will face off against Hayfork at 2:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Williams, they will take on Biggs at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams' pitchers better be ready for this one: Biggs has averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
