Volleyball Recap: Buchanan Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Carlos Jay and John Soldani

Buchanan and Mater Dei squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Buchanan had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Monarchs. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Buchanan had strong showings from John Soldani, who had 13 digs and five assists, and Carlos Jay, who had 13 assists and six digs. Jay has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 11 times he's played.

Buchanan's defeat dropped their record down to 30-17. As for Mater Dei, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 31-12-2.

As of now, neither Buchanan nor the Monarchs have any future games scheduled.
