Softball Recap: Palmetto Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Palmetto came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Bradenton Christian Panthers. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

LeiLani Cruz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caroline Craft, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Macey Lee also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Palmetto's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bradenton Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Palmetto didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-6 victory against Braden River on the 8th. As for Bradenton Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 14-4 defeat against Shorecrest Prep on the 4th.
