Recap: South Eugene Axe vs. Willamette Wolverines
The South Eugene Axe came tearing into Saturday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They beat Willamette by the very same score they won with last week: 80-60. Given South Eugene's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Willamette is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Eugene pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.3 points per game. As for Willamette, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
South Eugene will head out on the road to face off against Sheldon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
