Recap: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Canyon View Falcons
The Panguitch Bobcats pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-55 to Canyon View. Panguitch was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Canyon View apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Panguitch lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cache Eyre. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. Eyre scored a full 34.5% of Panguitch's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Justin Osburn, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Panguitch and nudges their season record down to 10-3. As for Canyon View, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Panguitch and Beaver Dam will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Canyon View, they will head out on the road to face off against Manti at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Manti knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Canyon View likes a good challenge.
