Softball Recap: Logan Drops Highest Score of Season Against Green Canyon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Logan). They put the hurt on the Green Canyon Wolves with a sharp 16-2 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Grizzlies brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Norah Zundel made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Zundel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Logan let Jayzanna Pauni and Rachel Porter run wild. Pauni got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one run, while Porter scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Those four RBI gave Pauni a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leila Pauni, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Canyon only managed six hits.

Logan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Green Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
