Recap: Athol Bears vs. Mahar Regional Senators
The Athol Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 13th straight defeat. They were outmatched by Mahar Regional on the road and fell 50-19. That's two games in a row now that Athol has lost by exactly 31 points.
Despite the loss, Athol still got an impressive performance from Anna Duquette, who scored six points.
Athol dropped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.8 points per game. As for Mahar Regional, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Athol will be playing at home against Mount Everett Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Athol comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Mahar Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
