Baseball Game Preview: Boulder Panthers vs. Fairview Knights

The Boulder Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Fairview Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Boulder has now lost nine straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 30.

Boulder fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Monarch on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by just one run.

Gavin Nguyen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fairview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Loveland 12-2 on Saturday.

Jacob Jaramillo looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Jackson Wier was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in triples. The team also got some help courtesy of Leo Muth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Fairview's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Boulder, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Boulder skirted past Fairview 4-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boulder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
