Basketball Game Preview: Chelsea Hornets vs. Fort Payne Wildcats

The Chelsea Hornets are taking a road trip to challenge the Fort Payne Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Chelsea is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Chelsea came up short against Sylacauga and fell 53-44. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by exactly nine points.

Meanwhile, Fort Payne entered their contest against Pinson Valley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Fort Payne took a 50-32 bruising from Pinson Valley. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Fort Payne's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Chelsea, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

Chelsea didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Fort Payne in their previous meeting back in February of 2016, but they still walked away with a 68-64 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chelsea since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
