Colorado signal-caller with deep roots ranked the top player at his position in the country.

He stands 6 feet, 5 inches and weighs 200 pounds. He threw for 2,800 yards last season, 27 touchdowns and four interceptions, and his brother just about won the Heisman Trophy.

Oh, and his dad played in the NFL too, and his mom might have been the family's best all-around athlete, starring in track, tennis and soccer.

Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) star Dylan McCaffrey is the top-rated overall quarterback in the country from the Class of 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He completed almost 65 percent of his passes last year for the 12-2 Eagles, who won the state Class 5A title.

McCaffrey, who has already committed to Michigan, is ranked 17th overall among all players in 2017. Here are nine more signal-callers right on his heels, in alphabetical order.

Jake Bentley, Opelika (Ala.)
Ranked 10th among quarterbacks, 97th overall.

Sam Ehlinger, Westlake (Austin, Texas)
Eighth among quarterbacks, 80th overall. He's a Texas commit.

Jake Fromm, Houston County (Warner Robins, Ga.)
The 6-3, 220-pounder is fifth among quarterbacks, 64th overall. He's committed to Georgia.

Hunter Johnson, Brownsburg (Ind.)
The 6-3, 200-pounder is second among quarterbacks, 26th overall. He's committed to Clemson.

Ryan Kelley, Basha (Chandler, Ariz.)
The 6-3, 170-pounder is fourth among quarterbacks, 59th overall. He's committed to Oregon.

Tate Martell, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)

The 5-11, 203-pounder is third among quarterbacks, 27th overall. He's committed to Texas A&M.



Davis Mills, Greater Atlanta Christian (Ga.)
The 6-3, 192-pounder is ninth among quarterbacks, 83rd overall. He's uncommitted.

Shawn Robinson, Guyer (Denton, Texas)
The 6-3, 207-pounder is seventh among quarterbacks, 70th overall. He's a TCU commit.

Tuaniga Tagovailoa, St. Louis (Honolulu)
The 6-1, 190-pounder is sixth among quarterbacks, 68th overall.
