Recap: Aynor Blue Jackets vs. Loris Lions

The Aynor Blue Jackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They suffered a rough 60-38 defeat at the hands of Loris. While losing is never fun, Aynor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while Loris is ranked 83rd).

Despite the loss, Aynor still got an impressive performance from Austin Tanyika, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tanyika has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Robinson Mendez, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.

Loris' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but KHALID SHERMAN led the charge by scoring eight points along with three steals. SHERMAN has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was TYLER BROWN, who scored five points along with three steals.

Aynor has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Loris, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aynor will challenge Manning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Manning focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Tuesday. As for Loris, they will head out on the road to square off against Dillon at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Dillon will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
