Softball Game Preview: Colonie Central Wolfpack vs. Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks

Colonie Central is 7-1 against Saratoga Springs since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wolfpack will be playing at home against the Blue Streaks at 11:00 a.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Colonie Central fell victim to Columbia and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 2-0. The loss was the Wolfpack's first of the season.

Adrianna Laraway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, Saratoga Springs suffered their biggest loss since May 4, 2024 on Monday. They lost 14-2 to Ballston Spa.

Saratoga Springs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackie Cutting, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Ava Taber also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Colonie Central fell to 3-1. As for Saratoga Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Colonie Central might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Saratoga Springs in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
