Softball Recap: Grand Blanc Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Grand Blanc came out on top against Lapeer on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Bobcats never let the Lightning get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Lightning recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Savannah Schultz made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted over her last 15 matchups.

In other batting news, Grand Blanc got a massive performance out of Skylar Green, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Green has posted over her last ten games. Zoey Beard was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Grand Blanc was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lapeer only posted a batting average of .000.

Grand Blanc pushed their record up to 19-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lapeer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Grand Blanc wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 18-0 win against Lapeer East on the 12th. Hopefully Lapeer paid attention to the Bobcats' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
