Basketball Recap: Jackson Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jackson can now relate to. They fell 61-49 to the St. Brendan Sabres on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Sabres are ranked 97th).

When it comes to explaining why Jackson lost, don't look at Leonard Clark. Despite the final result, he posted 18 points. Clark is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Vincent Dudley was another key player, putting up ten points.

St. Brendan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jonas Duque led the charge by earning 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Benny Fragela, who scored 12 points and six assists.

Jackson's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13. As for St. Brendan, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Brendan, they have already played their next matchup, an 89-73 defeat against Northwestern on the 7th.
