Soccer Game Preview: Southern Lee vs. Richmond

The Southern Lee Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Richmond Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Southern Lee is headed into Wednesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Lee County. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Southern Lee couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Richmond made sure to put some goals up on the board against Scotland on Tuesday. They never let the Fighting Scots get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. Considering Richmond's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Southern Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4-1. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 7-10-1.

Southern Lee took their victory against Richmond in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 5-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
