Soccer Game Preview: Lutheran West vs. Kirtland

Lutheran West is 2-7 against Kirtland since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Longhorns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Lutheran West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Last Wednesday, neither Lutheran West nor Orange could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Blake Simmerman and Jonathan Salo scored both of the Longhorns' goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Kirtland managed to keep up with Beachwood until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Hornets lost 4-1 to the Bison. Kirtland have struggled against Beachwood recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Kirtland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-3. Lutheran West's draw gives them a new season record of 5-6-2.
