Baseball Recap: Montclair Comes Up Short

Montclair suffered their closest defeat since March 4th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Don Lugo Conquistadores by a score of 3-1. The Cavaliers haven't had much luck with the Conquistadores recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Marco Zambrano was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Montclair's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Don Lugo, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season.

While Montclair had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
