Softball Recap: St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings vs. St. James Saints
St. John's Catholic Prep kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. James Saints. St. John's Catholic Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. James apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.
For St. James' part, they let Tenley Mullendore and Carli Mazaleski loose on the outfield. Mullendore scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances, while Mazaleski went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run.
St. John's Catholic Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Notre Dame Prep at 4:00 p.m. on April 11th. As for St. James, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory vs. Mercersburg Academy on the 27th.
