Basketball Game Preview: Brush Arcs vs. Holy Name Green Wave

The Brush Arcs will be taking part in a tournament against the Holy Name Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Brush is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They had to suffer through a 70-38 loss at the hands of Cleveland Heights. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Brush's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Reginald Smith, Jr., who went 5-for-7 en route to 11 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks, and Braylon Davis, who posted seven points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Ryleigh-Johnson, who earned nine points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Holy Name suffered their biggest loss since January 31st on Saturday. They were outmatched by Olmsted Falls and fell 78-49. The Green Wave were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-20.

Brush suffered a grim 79-57 defeat to Holy Name in their previous meeting back in January of 2017. Can the Arcs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
