Archmere Academy dropped down to 7-3 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They were beaten by the Howard Wildcats 36-0. The Auks were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than 31 points in the four games prior), but the Wildcats' defense proved too tough.
Archmere Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryan Hagenberg and Michael Donovan.
As for Howard, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.9 points on average this season.
Howard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jameson Bryant, who threw for 226 yards and two TDs on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. That's the most passing yards Bryant has posted since back in August. Another receiver making a difference was Korey Manley, who picked up 145 receiving yards and one score.
As of now, neither Archmere Academy nor Howard have any future games scheduled.
