Baseball Recap: Brawley Wildcats vs. Calexico Bulldogs

Brawley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calexico Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-0 last Tuesday.

Tate Preece made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Jacob Magana was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Calexico, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Brawley will take on Rocky Mountain in a tournament on Monday. Rocky Mountain will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Brawley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calexico, they will be taking part in a tournament against San Diego at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
