Wellington came tearing into Thursday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Roosevelt Roughriders 16-10. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kensley Story was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Charley Somday also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Roosevelt, they dropped their record down to 7-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Wellington is set to square off against their familiar foe Berthoud at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Roosevelt will take on rival Mountain View at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
