Volleyball Recap: Lewis County Takes a Loss

Lewis County suffered their biggest loss since September 9th on Thursday. They came up short against the Summertown Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-9, 25-10.

Summertown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amelia Emerson led the charge by getting 21 kills. Emerson is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 38 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoei Bonner, who had 35 assists.

Lewis County's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Summertown, their win bumped their record up to 33-8.

Lewis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summertown, they will square off against Columbia Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
