Baseball Recap: Golden Sierra Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Golden Sierra ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mesa Verde Mavericks 11-10.

Jacob Rodenbaugh made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Prine, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Prine is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Golden Sierra's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Mesa Verde, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5.
