Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Road Wins for Moore Catholic

Moore Catholic entered their tilt with Notre Dame Academy on Wednesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Notre Dame Academy Gators by a score of 56-47. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Gators are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brianna Caliri was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. Emma Bruno-Dunn was another key player, putting up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Notre Dame Academy lost, don't look at Giuliana Dito. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Lilyanna Goffredo, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Moore Catholic pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Notre Dame Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
