Softball Recap: Rockford Auburn Beats Lutheran for Their Third Straight Win

Rockford Auburn put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Lutheran Crusaders with a sharp 14-2 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Maylee Baker was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Lily Parr was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. KayKay Hudson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Rockford Auburn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Rockford Auburn's record is now 3-0. As for Lutheran, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
