Football Preview: Fulton Falcons vs. Karns Beavers
The Fulton Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Karns Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fulton is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Fulton got the win against Gatlinburg-Pittman by a conclusive 34-14.
Albert Johnson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 158 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 32 receiving yards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 103.6 rushing yards per game. Derrick Smith also helped out with an impressive 116 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Karns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 35-0 to Heritage, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Even if they lost, Karns' defensive line still kept up the pressure with six sacks. In that department, Aiden Meredith was the leader with two. Another thorn in Heritage's side was Alex Idol, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Fulton's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Karns, they now also have a losing record at 2-3.
