Football Game Preview: Mountain Island Charter Raptors vs. North Rowan Cavaliers + How To Watch

The Mountain Island Charter Raptors will take on the North Rowan Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mountain Island Charter is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering South Stanly just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They and the Rowdy Rebel Bulls were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 15-14 defeat.

Aamir Gilcreast put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 95 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Rowan, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Albemarle by a score of 21-14 on Friday. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

A big part of North Rowan's victory came down to the chemistry between Michael Alford and his top target Dyaon Norman- Jackson. Alford threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt while Norman- Jackson picked up 125 receiving yards and three TDs. The dominant performance also gave Alford a new career-high in rushing yards (73).

North Rowan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaiden Brown and Jo Jo Tarver.

Mountain Island Charter's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for North Rowan, they now also have a winning record of 5-4.
