Basketball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was the 55-52 winner over Green Mountain when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Springfield Cosmos lost 54-28 to the Green Mountain Chieftains on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cosmos have suffered against the Chieftains since December 22, 2016.

Springfield dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Green Mountain, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Springfield will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rivendell Academy at 7:00 p.m. Springfield is facing Rivendell Academy at the right time seeing as Rivendell Academy is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Green Mountain has already played their next contest (against Long Trail), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
