Softball Recap: Poultney Comes Up Short

Poultney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-1 to the West Rutland Golden Horde. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Horde this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-1 last Thursday.

Poultney's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for West Rutland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Poultney will host Mill River at 11:00 a.m. on the 26th. As for West Rutland, they are taking a road trip to take on Windsor at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Golden Horde will no doubt try to take advantage of.
