Baseball Recap: Lakeview Charter Takes a Loss

Lakeview Charter came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 35-1 to the Heritage Christian Warriors. The Lions have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Lakeview Charter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Perez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Perez has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times he's played.

Lakeview Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Heritage Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4-1.

Lakeview Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on the 21st. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.71 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Heritage Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-0 victory against Dominguez on the 15th.
