Softball Recap: Porter Ridge Comes Up Short

Porter Ridge suffered their biggest loss since April 16, 2024 on Monday. They lost 23-12 to the Providence Panthers. One positive for the Pirates, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Emma Daniels was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Braelyn Bevington also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Porter Ridge dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Providence, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Porter Ridge will take on Palisades at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Providence, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Providence Panthers challenge Charlotte Catholic Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They are strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
