Softball Recap: Golden Sierra Comes Up Short

If Golden Sierra was feeling good fresh off their 21-3 takedown of Mesa Verde last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grizzlies came up short against the Woodland Christian Cardinals on Saturday, falling 18-4. The Grizzlies haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Marina MacPherson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Marina Howell, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Golden Sierra's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Woodland Christian, their victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cardinals beat Golden Sierra by a score of 25-3 later that day.
