Softball Recap: Arlington Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Arlington and St. Benedict at Auburndale have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 13-1 to the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 27th.

Brittanie Layton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Arlington's defeat dropped their record down to 14-13-2. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-5.

Arlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Benedict at Auburndale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Briarcrest Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.12 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
