Basketball Recap: John Milledge Academy Takes a Loss

John Milledge Academy was the 58-23 winner over Mount de Sales Academy when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The John Milledge Academy Trojans took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers on Monday. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mount de Sales Academy found their leader in freshman Kenadi Lightfoot, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lightfoot has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laura Lillie Sparks, who posted nine points along with seven steals and five assists.

John Milledge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Mount de Sales Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Milledge Academy will head out to challenge Tattnall Square Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. John Milledge Academy is facing Tattnall Square Academy at the right time seeing as Tattnall Square Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Piedmont Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Piedmont Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matchups.
