Softball Recap: Orange Vista Has No Trouble Against Indio

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley View, Orange Vista was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Indio Rajahs 13-6. The match marked the Coyotes' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Ciera Overton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Macai Johnson and Lina Robles did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Robles went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jayla Holley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Orange Vista's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Indio, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orange Vista will welcome Beaumont at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Indio, they will host Orange Vista at 4:00 p.m. on March 6th.
