Football Recap: Decatur Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Decatur extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Jasper Vikings 48-13. The Red Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Reid Roberson threw for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Sharpley was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

As for Jasper, the victory (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 38.8 points thus far.

Lincoln Smothers was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 224 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 158 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Micah Pledger, who gained 120 total yards.
