Football Recap: Jamal Abdelkarim and Orion Suttle Secure Win for Portola

The third road game was the charm for Portola, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against the Woodbridge Warriors by a score of 17-7 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

A big part of Portola's victory came down to the chemistry between Orion Suttle and his top target Jamal Abdelkarim. Suttle rushed for 39 yards and one score while Abdelkarim picked up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 95 receiving yards gave Abdelkarim a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Woodbridge saw an underclassman step up: freshman Waylon Stone threw for 187 yards while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 50 yards.

The win got Portola back to even at 3-3. As for Woodbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
