There's no place like home for Southeast Whitfield County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodland Wildcats on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Summer Maddron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Allie Azurdia was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Rylee Shuler, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Southeast Whitfield County's victory bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Woodland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Southeast Whitfield County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
