Basketball Game Preview: Thomson Bulldogs vs. South Atlanta Hornets

Having just played yesterday, the Thomson Bulldogs will jump right back in to play the South Atlanta Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Thomson's tournament run continued when they took on Putnam County on Friday. Thomson took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Putnam County. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the War Eagles are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, South Atlanta took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 70-27 win over Valor College Prep. The contest marked the Hornets' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Thomson better keep an eye on Duor Duor. He was instrumental in South Atlanta's win, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Duor's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Bol Deng was another key player, going 8 for 16 on his way to 18 points.

South Atlanta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Thomson's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for South Atlanta, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
