Baseball Recap: Danville Comes Up Short

If Danville was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Barbourville on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Admirals came up short against the Madison Southern Eagles on Monday, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-2 two weeks ago.

Danville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Doyle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Danville's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Madison Southern, the victory got them back to even at 15-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Danville will welcome Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison Southern, they will take on South Laurel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
