Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights Drops Season-High Score on Waldron

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hamilton Heights). They secured a 61-57 W over the Waldron Mohawks on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Huskies considering their 19-point performance the game before.

Hamilton Heights got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Katie Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Sarah Sherrill was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards.

Hamilton Heights smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Waldron's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kiley Best, who posted 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Emerson Lindsey, who put up 14 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Hamilton Heights' record now sits at 4-11. As for Waldron, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Hamilton Heights will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th. As for Waldron, they will venture away from home to take on Oldenburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oldenburg Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Waldron surely won't give up without a fight.
