Volleyball Recap: The Woodlands Takes a Loss

The Woodlands saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastlake Falcons. The Highlanders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, The Woodlands still got an impressive performance from Ava Gibbs, who had 17 digs and two assists. Gibbs is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Elizabeth Kath also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Leading Eastlake to victory were Addison Carrillo and Alayna Rodarte-Clemente. Carrillo had seven digs and one assist, while Rodarte-Clemente had seven digs and one assist.

The Woodlands' defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Eastlake, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-1.

The Woodlands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Canyon on the 29th. As for Eastlake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Lake Travis on the 29th.
