Basketball Recap: Rockdale County Takes a Loss

Rockdale County was the 60-47 winner over Grovetown when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockdale County Bulldogs took a 51-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grovetown Warriors on Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Rockdale County lost, don't look at Jada Henry. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. What's more, Henry also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Moore, who scored eight points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Grovetown had a senior duo take command as Asunti Porter put up 23 points and McKenna Middleton went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. Middleton is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Sanai McKenzie-Watson was another key player, putting up two points and nine boards.

Rockdale County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Grovetown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-11.

Rockdale County has already played their next contest, a 65-40 win against South Gwinnett on the 4th. As for Grovetown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-34 defeat against Newton on the 7th.
