Cloverdale and Middletown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Eagles will challenge the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloverdale is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Cloverdale made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. Helena, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Saints by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Clear Lake hit Middletown with a six-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Cardinals, falling 11-1. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost seven in a row.

Jon Hawkins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Middletown now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Cloverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Cloverdale came out on top in a nail-biter against Middletown when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
