Soccer Recap: Holmes Extends Winning Streak to Four

Holmes had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They never let the Perquimans Pirates get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. This was payback for the Aces, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leslie Carpiette and Emma Parrish scored both of Holmes' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Holmes' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Perquimans, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holmes is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Manteo at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Holmes is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.2 goals per game this season. As for Perquimans, they will challenge Camden County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
